Minority Report Style, Secret Project “Milan” Reveled

Posted by: Maya

The new, Minority Report style, intelligent surface by Microsoft turns surface computing from science fiction to reality.

This new gadget takes coffe tables to a whole new level. The current price tag means I won’t be putting my feet up on this table in the near future, but still, you’ve got to see this:

Did Microsoft actually get the idea from the MOVIE?
It does look like the future is here… I would really be happy to use these type of screens!
    Thanks for informing.

  2. Maya Says:

    Good question…
I think someone was probably working on it way before the movie

Don’t underestimate the filming industry. I once saw an interview with someone from NASA who got an idea from Star Wars and also said that many of their ideas came from SciFi-movies and series like Star Trek.

Non-Scientists are often less limited in their fantasies because they don’t start thinking about how they can put it in reality. Not really the case here…
